  1. 1. What has been your favorite course of study in or out of school?

My favorite course of study in school has always been art and art history because I love learning about how and why artists portray messages the way they do through art.

    2. How many pages was the longest paper you have written? Did it include endnotes and bibliography?

The longest paper I’ve ever written was not a typical paper, but a screenplay running 50 pages. I was in 5th grade and the assignment was to write a creative story in groups of 4. I wrote the story by myself.

    3. Which was your favorite paper? Please tell us about the topic in a couple of sentences.

My favorite paper was an elaborate piece about my love for b-boying (commonly known as breakdancing). The assignment was to write about something specific without blatantly stating what it is we are actually talking about.

    4. Is there a particular kind of writing you love to do?

I’m really fond of poetry—thanks to a very skilled lyricist. I also love screenwriting and creating comic books/graphic novels.

    5. Which books have you read lately: art, fiction, non-fiction, sci-fi, poetry, environmental, film? Any comments are welcome.

I hate to admit it, but I’m somewhat of a hopeless romantic. That being said, I love romance when it comes to reading. Now and then, I’ll read some random fiction books, but mainly romance wins me over. When it comes to poetry, I love watching a poet perform their piece; I don’t like to read poetry. Poems are more powerful when spoken directly from the poet.

    6. Which artist or writer really impresses you? Why?

I don’t have a favorite artist or writer. Every artist has something to say.

    7. What is your main interest besides writing, art, music, (i.e., the humanities)?

Another main interest of mine would be movies. I love movies—watching them and making them.

    8. Please describe briefly an article in a newspaper or a magazine that got you thinking lately.

A magazine that usually gets me thinking is Seventeen (or others similar to it). The messages popular magazines like Seventeen send to young girls kind of bothers me (especially articles giving advice about attracting male attention).

    9. Which recent cultural event has really impressed you? This can be a museum, a concert, or anything like that, but also a sports game (if you consider this a cultural event, for which there are good reasons).

I’ve never left the country and everything on the planet is fairly intriguing in one way or another.

    10. Is there another, non-cultural event that has affected you deeply.

Driving around Denver with my dad in his black Jeep Wrangler—he doesn’t talk much.

    11. Please share with us a thought or an idea that really widened your intellectual horizon.

I know someone who everyday regrets decisions made in their life (I’m serious—everyday). I want to make sure I’m never that miserable in life.
